Flying OGG -> DFW -> MIA -> BDA (Hamilton, Bermuda) for the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. Should be a fantastic event this year, as both Bubba and Rory won Majors (Rory won two) and accepted their invitations.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature seems unimpressed. Tropical Storm Fay is going to do an edge-pass on Bermuda late tonight, so I got as far as Dallas before my MIA -> BDA flight was cancelled.
Spending the night at the Westin DFW. Re-routed to BDA tomorrow via JFK. We’ll see how that goes.
It has been announced this is the last year in Bermuda for the Grand Slam. It has been fun. Bermuda has been a terrific host for this event, and the course at Port Royal is phenomenally telegenic.
Will be interesting to see where the Grand Slam ends up for next year. Since I’ve been involved, the tournament has been at the Hyatt Grand Champions in Poipu, Kaua’i, then the Mid-Ocean Club in Southampton (home club of Michael Douglas and Michael Bloomberg), and finally Port Royal. Hard to beat those venues. I can’t see the 2015 event going to any place that isn’t spectacular.
